Summit Code of Conduct

The NCWIT Summit annually convenes change leaders focused on significantly improving diversity and inclusion in computing. Educators, entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and social scientists (both men and women) from across industries and disciplines participate. As an organization dedicated to diversity in tech, creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for all attendees is centrally important to our mission

Non-discrimination policy

NCWIT does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, ancestry or national origin, age, physical or mental disability, creed, religion or religious beliefs, veteran status, marital status, source of income, family status, physical appearance, body size, political affiliation, or political philosophy in admission and access to, and treatment in, its educational programs and activities. NCWIT takes action to increase accessibility, ethnic, cultural, and gender diversity, and to provide equal opportunity to all of its members, program participants and all staff and consultants.

Anti-harassment policy

Physical and verbal harassment of any kind is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, sexual language and imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention. We expect participants to follow these rules at all event venues and event-related social activities.

If you are being harassed, witness someone else being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an NCWIT staff member immediately, or notify us at summit@ncwit.org, and we’ll be happy to help contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the Summit.

We will not tolerate harassment in any form. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, event organizers retain the right to take any actions to maintain a welcoming environment for all participants. Summit participants violating these rules may be expelled at the discretion of the Summit organizers.
